The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu has released Notification No. 02/2026 for the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) for working teachers, on 26 October 2026. The TNTET is an eligibility test and not a vacancy-based recruitment: clearing it makes a teacher eligible for appointment against future vacancies, so the notice does not declare a post count. Online applications for Paper I and Paper II open on 27 October 2026 and close on 19 November 2026. The edit window runs from 20 to 22 November 2026, and the examination is scheduled for 20 December 2026 for both papers. This edition is restricted to in-service teachers who were appointed on or before 1 September 2025. Candidates should confirm their eligibility against the detailed notification, which sets out the service condition, the paper applicable to the class level and subject being taught, qualification requirements and the fee structure. Qualification norms follow the NCTE guidelines used for TET, and the test format is the standard two-paper structure with objective questions on child development and pedagogy, language, mathematics, and environmental studies or the relevant subject. Applications are accepted only online through trb.tn.gov.in. Keep the registration number and the confirmation page safe, because the edit window can be used only once within the notified dates. TRB publishes the hall tickets on the same portal roughly a week to ten days before the exam. SarkariUpdates.live is an independent information platform and does not accept applications or fees.
